Tamanu is commonly grown in coastal areas and in lowland forests. However, it is still possible to grow it in inland areas of moderate elevation. It has the ability to tolerate a variety of soils such as coastal sandy soil, clay soil, or degraded soil. Tamanu trees are wildly grown in the Mekong River Delta area.
