DISTRIBUTION
In Vietnam, Litsea cubeba oil is mainly distributed in the northern mountainous provinces such as Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, and Lang Son. The plant grows naturally or semi-wild at altitudes of approximately 300–1,500 meters. The primary raw material for essential oil distillation is the fruit.
HARVESTING
It is harvested during the summer season from June to September, with a peak period in July–August.
Harvesting is carried out when the fruits turn from green to light yellow, at which stage the citral content is at its highest.
