Techvina & HUST: Nurturing Vietnam’s Global Engineering Talent for a Brighter Future

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) stands as Vietnam’s premier institution for science and technology training, consistently producing the innovative minds that drive our nation forward. At Techvina, this rings especially true; many of our brightest talents in R&D, QA/QC, and Production are proud HUST alumni. Our deep connection with HUST extends beyond recruitment – we are committed partners in fostering the next generation of skilled professionals, particularly in a world where English proficiency is key to global success for technical talent.

1. A Shared Vision for English Excellence in Engineering
Our strong partnership with HUST was recently highlighted at a vital panel discussion hosted by HUST’s Faculty of Foreign Languages on July 16, titled “Solutions to Enhance English Proficiency for Engineering Students.” HUST rightly identifies English as a core competency for students to access global knowledge, participate in international projects, and thrive in a high-quality labor market. This aligns perfectly with Techvina’s focus on innovation and export, where English is a mandatory requirement across almost all our departments within the natural aroma industry.

Techvina was honored to contribute significantly to this discussion. Ms. Tran Thuy Nga (Nikky Tran), our Head of Marketing and a proud alumna of HUST’s Faculty of Foreign Languages, opened the first section of the panel. She shared real-world insights into the current English proficiency of HUST students, emphasizing its pivotal role in Techvina’s manufacturing, business, and research operations.

Later, Mr. Nguyen Van Thuan, Techvina’s Deputy Director and an esteemed alumnus of HUST’s School of Chemistry and Life Sciences, joined the second part of the discussion. Drawing from his extensive experience in natural aroma production, Mr. Thuan offered valuable suggestions on how HUST can further enhance its English language teaching methodologies for engineering graduates.

2. HUST’s Strategic Push for Global Integration & English Proficiency

This discussion underscored HUST’s profound commitment to national directives, as Vietnam’s top science and technology institute tasked by the government to lead international exchange for sustainable national growth. This mandate was powerfully reinforced by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long’s Decision No. 663/QD-TTg on March 25, 2025, approving the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Development Project. This ambitious project aims to elevate HUST into the group of leading higher education institutions in Asia in engineering and technology, serving as an excellence center for training, talent development, research, and innovation across strategic sectors like AI, cybersecurity, semiconductors, biotechnology, and more. By 2035, HUST targets being ranked among the top 100-150 in Asia by reputable international rankings.

In line with these goals, Associate Professor Vu Van Yem, Vice Rector of HUST, emphasized the university’s comprehensive internationalization plan for 2025-2030, launched on July 15. A key component of this long-term strategy involves HUST’s Faculty of Foreign Languages (FOFL), which is developing specific proposals to enhance English proficiency among students and improve foreign language skills for staff and lecturers.
